(Hendersonville, NC, March 17, 2016)-Students from East Henderson High School participated in a seminar on Thursday, March 17 at IMOCO, Inc, a company providing comprehensive contracting services to mechanical and industrial companies across the Southeast.

Bill Harris, Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, led a presentation that introduced students to the types of careers available, job titles and responsibilities, and discussed salaries and benefits associated with those jobs.

Chad Allen, Project Engineer, shared photos, spoke about specific projects completed by IMOCO, and gave suggestions for entering the field.

Bob Revels, Safety Director at IMOCO, continued the presentation with a lesson on the importance of safety, detailing how OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration) standards changed the industry. A certified trainer for OSHA10 and OSHA30, Revels commented on the importance IMOCO places on safety saying, “Since 2009, IMOCO has had zero lost time injuries. This is almost unheard of in the industry.”

After suggestions were given for continuing education and entering the field, students were taken on a tour of the facility to learn about equipment.

“We’re glad to have the chance to introduce young people to the industry. It’s a good opportunity to inform them of the different types of careers available so that they can begin to focus on one that resonates with them,” said Bill Harris.
